What I offer

Audition Preparation:

College and Conservatory

Choosing a college or conservatory program with a major or minor in voice or musical theater can be a daunting task. Do you want to go to a free standing conservatory or is a conservatory-like setting in a major university more to your liking? Are you a classical singer, a "Broadway Baby", or some combination of the two? Do you want a small liberal arts school with a solid music program or a "fine arts supplement"? How about Music Ed?

Understanding the choices is only the first step on this journey. You will need to negotiate the hundreds of programs that are available and the multitude of admission and scholarship audition requirements.

Most High Schools offer good solid assistance in choosing the best academic fit for their students, but add music or theater into the mix and we are talking about a whole new world.

Voices of the Future offers a variety of services for the college or conservatory bound student.

Consultation:

So, you're a Junior in High School and you have decided that vocal music in some form should be a central part of your college experience. If you're not sure what your options are or what your next step should be, we can help. We will meet with you, listen to your current repertoire, help you explore your options and recommend a course of action leading to the college application and audition process. Whether you need technical tweaking, new rep choices, coaching, or master class experience, we can help.

Estill based voice lessons:

Jo Estill is a renowned voice scientist and vocal pedagogue who designed what I believe to be the most complete and scientifically based methodology for teaching voice that I have come across in my 25 years of teaching.

The method is anatomically correct, is completely compatible with dramatic and physical needs inherent in theater, will provide a range of strategies for operatic, theatrical or pop styles.

This method has no aesthetic bias. One style is not superior to another, they are just different "recipes" using the same set of ingredients.

Make your teachers, directors, conductors, choral conductors and most importantly yourself happy and comfortable. Learn real control and real ease. Stay vocally healthy and productive.

Lessons are either 45 minutes or an hour, depending on your needs and capabilities.
